About HoyooTrek
HoyooTrek is a trekking blog in English, Arabic, Spanish and French about the world's multi-day treks: what to expect on the trail, what it really costs, and where to book and compare.
The trekker behind HoyooTrek
HoyooTrek was started by Pascal, an avid trekker who has hiked hundreds of paths around the world and worn out more pairs of hiking shoes than he can count.
On one trek he even left his left shoe behind. He carried on in a well-worn left shoe borrowed from someone else, paired with his own right one. The photo above is the proof.
That is the spirit of the site: practical answers to the questions trekkers actually ask before they go. How high, how many days, how cold at night, what the food is like (halal included), what it costs, which permits you need and what to pack. Pascal also writes first-hand articles from his own treks, under his own name.
Who writes our guides
Our reference trek guides are written by the HoyooTrek editorial team. We check facts against official sources, such as national park authorities and government visa sites, and every guide shows the date it was last updated.
Each trek guide ends with its sources and the date we last checked them. Our information is for guidance only: always confirm details with your operator and official sources before you book. How we work explains the full process.
Written for travellers from the Gulf and beyond
Every trek guide, in all four languages, covers halal food, prayer, Arabic-speaking staff, family travel and visas for GCC passports. We write these as what to expect and what to ask your operator, not as claims about any particular company.
Who built and publishes the site
The website was designed and built by Cecile Ancieux, website developer.
HoyooTrek is published by Vyziotek, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is part of the Hoyooken network of free sites.
