Privacy and cookies
This page explains what information HoyooTrek collects when you read the site or write to us, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and collect as little as we can.
Who is responsible
HoyooTrek is published by Vyziotek, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Vyziotek is responsible for the personal data described here (the data controller). For any privacy question or request, write to info@vyziotek.com.
What we collect and why
- Reading statistics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read, from which country and on which kind of device. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use these statistics only to improve the site.
- Advertising. The site loads Google AdSense, which shows ads and may use cookies or similar technology to choose them, count them and fight fraud. Where allowed, ads may be personalised to your interests. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message by email so we can reply. The website itself does not store them. We keep messages only as long as needed to answer you and follow up.
- Server logs. Our host, Hostinger, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser and time of request) to run the site securely.
- Links to other sites. When you follow a link to a booking site or another partner, that site may set its own cookies, for example to record that you came from HoyooTrek. Its own privacy policy then applies.
We don't ask for an account and we don't sell personal data. Apart from the Google cookies listed below, HoyooTrek sets no cookies.
Consent in Europe, the UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics and Google advertising storage start switched off (Google Consent Mode). They are only switched on if you accept them through our consent message, and you can change your choice later. Elsewhere, they are on by default and you can switch them off with the options below.
Cookies used on the site
- Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_<id>, to tell visits apart and measure sessions. They last up to two years.
- Google AdSense: cookies such as __gads, __gpi and IDE, to show, limit and measure ads. Their names and durations are set by Google.
In Europe, the UK and Switzerland none of these is set before you consent.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Turn off personalised ads in Google My Ad Center.
- Opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's browser add-on.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to correct or delete it, to object to or limit its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@vyziotek.com and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Where data is processed
Google and Hostinger may process data in countries other than yours, including outside Europe. They use legal safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
Legal basis (for visitors in Europe and the UK)
- Analytics and advertising cookies: your consent.
- Replying to your messages: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you asked for.
- Server logs and security: our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and working.
Children
HoyooTrek is written for adults planning treks and is not directed at children under 16.
